Writing Reflection T4W6

This week for writing we had to write a recount about the earthquake because it has practically been natural disaster week at school.

The Earthquake

So here I was, having a nice sleep, and I probably would not have woken up except for the fact that my brother was screaming. “Muuuuuuum!!” he called

“Yeah don’t worry, I’m coming” replied Mum. The first thing I noticed was my door was slamming open and closed loudly and that the windows were rattling. “What’s Happening” I called but my voice was drowned out by the rattling and my dad saying words that I cannot repeat. Then, I slowly realised that it had stopped, I looked over at the clock, it said 0:01. Finally I thought, time to get back to sleep. But then, as I was laying in bed it started again this time much louder and scarier. I actually screamed this time half from tiredness and half from being scared. I later found out that is was a 7.5 magnitude earthquake based in Kaikoura with over 800 aftershocks still counting!
